Samsung and Verizon Price Galaxy Tab at $600

Our long wait for US pricing on Samsung’s 7-inch Galaxy Tab Android tablet is now over. Samsung and Verizon have announced that it’ll cost $600 out the door with no contract. Data plans using Verizon’s 3G network can be added on a month-to-month basis starting at $20 per month for 1GB of data.

Verizon will be selling the Galaxy Tab starting November 11th—the company has a Galaxy Tab webpage up and running, too.

It’s somewhat surprising that the tablet won’t be subsidized by Verizon but it’s actually a smart move, as it manages to slide in at about $30 cheaper than Apple’s 3G-enabled iPad (which starts at $629). Remember that Verizon stores will be selling iPads bundled with 3G MiFi routers starting October 28th, so customers will have at least a couple tablet options.

Also keep in mind that the Galaxy Tab will be sold by all four big wireless carriers here in the US. It’ll be interesting to see if pricing is subsidized through any of the other operators.
