Vizio wants to be the ultimate home entertainment package, and they’re counting on OnLive, the cloud-based gaming system, to help them reach that status. At CES in Las Vegas today, the companies announced that the OnLive Game service will be included on new Vizio HDTVs, the new VIA Tablet and VIA Phone and Blu-ray players. People who opt to buy one of the mentioned Vizio products will not need to buy an additional OnLive gaming console, which means the company has integrated viewing, the internet and the gaming experience into one product. The OnLive service will also be a part of the upcoming Vizio internet apps, helping the player share stats and information by keeping them always connected.

“Today’s OnLive/VIZIO announcement marks a major milestone: for the first time in the history of video games, consumers will be able to enjoy premium video games directly on a TV, no console or computer needed,” Founder and CEO of OnLive Steve Perlman said in the press release. “VIZIO’s innovative and cutting-edge technologies are ideally aligned to complement OnLive’s vision for the future of entertainment and together we look forward to providing a wealth of rich-media, interactive content to consumers this year.”

Customers will be able to access games at any time on any of the devices. Rentals range from $2.99 to $49.99 which are digitally streamed to your device, with a recent $9.99 a month all-you-can-play plan announced. Consoles normally cost $99 (not including an optional $29.99 video adapter), but are discounted 33 percent  to $66 right now because of CES.
