MySpace has released the date for its long-feared cull of more than half of its employees: January 11th. The once-popular social network site is expected to lay off between 550-600 of its 1000 employees tomorrow, and is said to be finalizing the figure today.
The cuts are said to be being made internationally, with MySpace China reportedly losing its CEO and the majority of its staff, and MySpace UK to similarly “significantly downsize”. The future of the site remains unclear, although a new rumor has News Corp. considering selling what’s left after this round of layoffs to Yahoo.
