Although Steve Jobs may not become Sir Steve any time soon, he’s still our tech-y knight in shining armor.
The Telegraph reports that plans to knight Steve Jobs for his contributions to business and technology in 2009 were scrapped by then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who held a grudge ever since Jobs declined an invitation to speak at a Labour Party Conference.
While the snub is certainly a little bit stinging–long-time rival Bill Gates was given the honor in 2005–we know that Jobs has got bigger fish to fry. After all, it’s hard to argue with Apple’s dominance in the tech industry… and who needs knighthood when you’re busy developing the iPad 2?
