IKEA Launches Virtual Furniture, Makes Your Desktop More Swedish

IKEA may be the go-to place for affordably-priced furniture, but did you know that it’s now branching out into virtual shelving, as well? IKEA sites in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic are offering customers an app that lets them organize their desktop using the Swedish company’s Expedit shelving unit.

The app comes from Hungarian agency Laboratory Ideas, which says that it’s just like the real thing:

Just like Ikea’s furniture, the Ikea e-Folder set has to be assembled by you: it consists of a background picture with an Expedit storage unit and an icon set made of Ikea’s very own organisers. Once you set it up, you can put order to the chaos on your desktop.

The app can be downloaded here, here or here. You may have to come up with the random extra parts and confusing instructions yourself.
