Google Introduces Daily Trivia Game

Every time there’s a problem, the solution is rather simple: use Google.

That’s the premise of A Google a Day, a new crossword puzzle that encourages players to use the search engine in pursuit of the answers.

Questions will be posted every day on the A Google a Day site and printed on weekdays above the New York Times crossword puzzle. Answers will be revealed in the next day’s issue of the Times and on the site.

To prevent spoilers, Google says look for answers on the newly created site rather than the regular search engine. This special version of Google excludes real-time updates and other aids to solving the puzzle.

Like traditional crossword puzzles, the difficulty of questions will increase throughout the week.

“As the world of information continues to explode, we hope A Google a Day triggers your imagination and helps you discover all the types of questions you can ask Google—and get an answer,” the company said in a blog post.

Try your hand at today’s riddle: “Two future presidents signed me. Two didn’t because they were abroad. Despite my importance, modern viewers seem to think I have a glaring spelling error. What is it?”

The answer may not come to you right away. But that’s when you can ask your friends for help via e-mail, Buzz, Facebook and Twitter. You can also get the clues delivered right to your Facebook and Twitter feeds. There’s even a mobile version so you can search on the go.
