White iPhone Same Girth as Black iPhone, Says Fancy Tool

Consumer Reports has resorted to using some sort of futuristic measuring technology to determine that the white iPhone is not 0.2 millimeters thicker than the black iPhone, as had been previously reported.

Using “high-quality calipers” as shown in the above photo (have you ever seen such dark magic?!) Consumer Reports found that an iPhone 4 is apparently an iPhone 4, no matter which way you slice it—both models returned an identical 0.37-inch thickness reading.

And just to drive the point home, the outfit tested several protective cases to find that “all fit the white iPhone 4 as well as they did the black version.”

So if you’ve held out 10 months to buy the white iPhone 4 and then you didn’t buy it for fear it wouldn’t fit the case you bought for your black iPhone 4 that you actually never bought because you were waiting for the white one, you sound very interesting. And you can go get the white version now.
