Miramax has signed a multi-year agreement granting Netflix streaming access to its library of movies, including Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, The English Patient and the Scream franchise. The agreement, the first of its kind for the studio, will allow Netflix access to “several hundred” movies beginning next month, although it’s believed the movies will be added and removed on a rotating basis.

Miramax CEO Mike Lang explained that the agreement was the result of a new focus for the company:

From day one, we’ve been very clear about the importance of digital and our desire to respond to the significant pent-up demand for our films – delivering to consumers whenever and wherever they want. This agreement is an important first step in our digital strategy. Netflix has always been a trailblazer, with a tremendous track record of innovation and quality customer service. We’re thrilled to now be in business with them as we build and revitalize the proud Miramax brand.

Financial terms for the deal haven’t been disclosed.
