HTC and Verizon Wireless are getting in touch with their feminine sides with the HTC Rhyme, an Android smartphone ostensibly aimed at women.

Originally rumored under the name HTC Bliss, the Rhyme skimps on specs in favor of style and accessories. Its Plum-colored unibody frame has gentle curves all over and houses a 3.7-inch display, a 1 GHz processor, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera and 768 MB of RAM. Outside the United States, the phone will also be available in Clearwater and Hourglass. Please enlighten me if you know what those colors are.

The HTC Bliss accessorizes with a cube-shaped “Charm” that attaches to the phone’s headphone jack by a dangling cable. The charm lights up for incoming calls and text messages, and is meant to hang from a purse or backpack so it’s visible even when the phone is not. Along with the Charm, the U.S. version of the HTC Bliss includes a speaker/charger dock and pair of tangle-free headphones. A Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth speaker and an arm band are sold separately.

In the United States, the Rhyme will be exclusively available through Verizon Wireless, and at Target stores, on September 22. Usually, you have to fork out lots of extra cash for accessories, but Verizon is bundling the Charm, the dock and the headphones with the HTC Rhyme for $200, according to This is My Next. That’s not a bad way to make up for the Rhyme’s lack of dual-core processor and 4G connectivity, although we wouldn’t object to a high-end smartphone in womanly colors, either.
