Don’t kill the messenger, but TmoNews may have gotten its hands on an internal T-Mobile document wherein the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Cole Brodman may have been quoted as saying, “We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year.” Sorry.
BUT! Notice he didn’t say, “We are not going to get the iPhone this year.”

That’s a positive, right?! If you’re a T-Mobile customer and you’ve been waiting for the iPhone, would you be content with the iPhone 4 or the rumored iPhone 4S (if it actually exists) or is it the iPhone 5 or nothing, as far as you’re concerned? Search your feelings.
The context of the supposed memo leaked to TmoNews is that during an employee town hall meeting, Brodman was quoted as saying that T-Mobile will roll out two new smartphones for the holiday season, but ended with, “We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year.”
Worst case scenario: No iPhone whatsoever. Fair-to-middling case scenario: Some sort of iPhone, but not the iPhone 5. Best case scenario: Someone’s playing a cruel, cruel trick with this supposed leak. T-Mobile’s statement: “We don’t comment on rumors. We remain focused on expanding our portfolio of 4G smartphones. We look forward to sharing on Monday news about our latest and greatest product lineup.”
