Before Steve Jobs passed away, he lived to see the fifth incarnation of the iPhone unveiled. While Jobs may never see the legacy of the iPhone 4S and future versions play out, the iPhone 4S is now available for pre-order.

The device won’t actually ship out or go on sale in retail stores until a week from now on October 14. As we’ve mentioned before, the iPhone 4S will run you $199 for a 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for 64GB model. Customers will also have to sign a two-year contract.

However, it’s also the perfect time to pick up an 8GB iPhone 4 for $99, and an 8GB iPhone 3GS for free if you’re willing to endure a two-year contract. The iPhone 4S will be available on the Sprint, Verizon and AT&T networks, while the free iPhone 3GS will only be available through AT&T.
