Apple’s virtual assistant Siri hasn’t been even been released for a week, and yet she’s already proven herself to be the internet’s new favorite artificial intelligence. The reason? Exactly the one that Apple had hoped would endear you to her in the first place: She talks to you.
The spectacular STSS Tumblr site collects the AI’s responses to all manner of statements, from “What is the best computer in the world?” (“All truly intelligent assistants prefer Macintosh,” comes the response) to “Open the pod bay doors,” which prompts the spectacular reply “That’s a rather insensitive thing to say to an intelligent agent, Eric” (Oh, if only she’d said “Dave,” my love would be complete). It’s almost enough to make you want to buy an iPhone 4S, just to join in… which probably makes Apple very happy indeed.
