Scared Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS won’t be 3D enough? Worry not, because Nintendo recently teamed up with West Coast Customs to create the most real-life Mario Kart experience ever—they actually built physical karts from the game for the 2011 LA Auto Show.
West Coast Customs, who first became famous for pimping various people’s rides on MTV, made two vehicles: Mario’s classic red number and Luigi’s ridiculous looking Bumble V. Mario’s kart even comes complete with totally a useless (yet still awesome) giant exhaust and hang-glider.

One of the karts will eventually be given away to a lucky member of GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards program. If Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime’s childish glee in the video is any indication, these things should be a lot of fun to drive.
No word yet if the karts come with brightly colored oversized turtle shells. Mario Kart 7 comes out December 4.
