Facebook isn’t just America’s favorite social network, it’s also America’s favorite tech company to work for, according to a new study. The company ranked third overall on Glassdoor’s annual Best Places to Work survey, based upon reviews of the nation’s workplaces by their employees.
Facebook’s ranking this year is actually down from last year, when it was judged the best company in any vertical to work for, but looking at the reviews, it’s hard to imagine a better place to work. Employees have left anonymous notes like, “I don’t believe there are any major cons to working at this company” and “You’ll be surrounded by the most talented people in the world all with a mission to change the world.” The company rates a 4.4 (out of 5) overall, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg getting a 93% approval rating, personally.
In terms of tech companies, Facebook is closely followed by MITRE Information Security (a 4.1 rating, with “very satisfied” employees) and Google (a 4.0 rating and merely “satisfied” workforce), which take fourth and fifth place on Glassdoor’s Top 50 chart. Apple ranks at 10th place, with a 3.9 rating and reviews complaining of the company being “cultish” and having poor management.
