Representative Lamar Smith (R-Texas)—who chairs the House Judiciary Committee and is the sponsor of the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA)—in a blog post on TheHill.com titled “Setting the record straight on SOPA“. The bill is headed for markup tomorrow, with Smith explaining that “the changes in the manager’s amendment reflect conversations with representatives from companies like Microsoft and Facebook, and seek to address technical concerns with the first draft.”
