Just think of the endless possibilities you’d have at your disposal if you owned a vehicle “that glides over land and water yet also soars in the air up to 70 mph with the aid of integrated wings.” That’s what Hammacher Schlemmer is promising with the $190,000 flying hovercraft.

And we’re not talking about floating a foot or two off the ground – apparently this thing can launch itself 20 feet into the air, if needed:

Operating in fresh- or saltwater and up to 30% inclines over sand, mud, grass, swamp, desert, ice, and snow, its wings and horizontal elevator enable pilots to simply hop over water- or land-based obstacles up to 20′-high unsurmountable to a typical hovercraft.

You’d be the king and/or queen of any apocalypse. Pole shift got your seasons and sea levels all mixed up? Just hop in the hovercraft! It operates in any kind of water and over just about any kind of terrain, so there’s no need to pre-plan. Zombies on the loose? Jump small- to medium-sized crowds of them with ease! Alien invasion? Maybe they’ll spare you as they wax nostalgic about your “classic” UFO – the kind their grandparents had.

No matter the scenario, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got access to plenty of gas. The hovercraft’s two nine-gallon tanks are good for up to 160 miles, which is less than nine miles per gallon. Oh, and you’ll need to register the hovercraft as a boat. Just because it’s an apocalypse doesn’t mean that you don’t need to follow the rules.
