The Last of Us explores what happens when a pandemic threatens to turn citizens into horrible mutants, and as you might expect, it’s not pretty. In a demo at E3, grizzled survivor Joel and 14-year-old Ellie must either evade or attack a gang of hostile scavengers, using only scarce resources. The behavior of these enemies will change based on the weapon Joel brandishes, so even a small revolver becomes an object of respect, rather than a tool in everyone’s kit.
