While most PC makers are focused on Windows 8 tablets right now, Sony’s giving Android some love with the Xperia Tablet S. The foldover design from the original Tablet S returns, but it’s thinner now and enclosed in metal. The 9.4-inch, 1280-by-800 display and built-in IR emitter also make a comeback, but there’s a meatier Tegra 3 processor inside. Despite the new features, the Xperia Tablet S remains $400 for a 16 GB version, same as the existing Tablet S, so hang on until the September 7 launch date if the funky design catches your eye.
