Google chairman Eric Schmidt, telling a group of reporters in Tokyo that Google hasn’t been working on a standalone mapping application for Apple’s new iOS 6 software.

With iOS 6, Apple removed Google Maps as the standard mapping application and replaced it with its own version. Apple’s version, however, has prompted some users to complain about incomplete data, misplaced landmarks and incorrect directions.
