Google Play – formerly known as the Android Market — has passed 25 billion app downloads. A large majority of those were from me, I admit. I get so frustrated playing Angry Birds that I uninstall it and swear I’ll never play it again, only to download it shortly after the tears dry. I just can’t stand the smug looks on those stupid pigs’ faces when I fail to clear a level.
Anyway, since you helped download all those apps, Google’s going to be cutting you a deal on some of the more popular Android goodies over the next five days:
Every day you’ll be able to choose from a collection of apps from some of the world’s top developers including Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat and more. And all for just 25 cents. We’ll also be offering some special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices. Visit Google Play a little later today to check them out.
I haven’t noticed the deals yet in the Google Play store, but Google did throw in that “later today” quip, so I guess I’ll be playing Angry Birds for a bit. Here come the waterworks.
