You’d be forgiven for forgetting about the Mac Mini‘s existence, but Apple’s gone ahead and reminded us all that the tiny desktop line is alive and kicking.

Today’s hardware update brings us two models – both 7.7 inches square and 1.4 inches thick – priced between $599 and $799 depending upon the configuration. The $599 model sports a 2.5GHz dual-core processor and a 500-gigabyte hard drive, while the $799 version gets updated to a 2.3Ghz quad-core processor and packs a one-terabyte hard drive. You can swap in up to a 256-gigabyte flash memory drive as well.

Both models feature Intel graphics and come standard with four gigabytes of memory, but the memory can be configured to eight or 16 gigabytes if you like. Both models feature Apple’s Thunderbolt port and USB 3.0 connectivity.
