The man who played Star Trek’s Captain James T. Kirk, and the face of the Priceline commercials, has lent his star power to a new iPhone app.
With Shatoetry, created by Blindlight Apps, users — or “Shatoetists” — can compose text and then listen to William Shatner’s voice recite it back. To select words, text is dragged from a “Word Tray” of “inspiring words” to the Compose field.
To add dramatic pauses, users select “Space Bubbles.” Different colored portraits of the celebrity can be chosen for the background of each “shatism.”And to listen to the final product, users press “Shat that!” and can then trade messages with one another via the Create with Friends option.
In a release, Shatner said, “People all over the world have been listening to my voice for so long, but they’ve only ever heard what I wanted to say. I wanted to give people a means to express their thoughts and ideas, using my voice.”
The possibilities are endless, the celebrity told Fox News Entertainment:
“I can say anything. I can even break up with your boyfriend. I’d be delighted to.”
Shatoetry is available in the iTunes app store.
