Summer’s big kahuna arrives last (but far from least), giving the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 one heck of a swan song before the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One roll into town. Rockstar’s said nothing about next-gen versions, however impossibly detailed some of those in-game sequences look in the video above.
What do we know about the game? It’s bigger than all of Rockstar’s prior sandbox games combined, you’ll play as three interlinked protagonists instead of one across a sprawling story, the game world is supposedly a zillion times more dynamic and robust if you want to start poking to see what it does — basically Grand Theft Auto times everything Rockstar’s learned about making sandbox games times expertise working within the developmental framework of eight- and seven-year-old game consoles. If this thing lives up to the hype, the end of summer’s going to be golden indeed.
