The Saints Row games are for urban sandbox wonks who’d just as soon dispense with Grand Theft Auto‘s attempt to sequester its gameplay behind a curtain of increasingly Hollywood-ized melodrama instead of embracing the farce. But the Saints Row games have also come to represent meaningful farce, i.e. purposeful silliness, i.e. not a shred of wasted, pointless gameplay. Saints Row IV, which trades the usual street thugs for alien invaders, promises to be the zaniest installment yet (note the trailer above isn’t entirely safe for work).
