JawboneOver a half-inch thinner and three ounces lighter than Jawbone’s original Jambox, Mini Jambox is a Bluetooth speaker for the “air” age. In other words, though there was little wrong with the company’s first effort, it's gone and winnowed down a new release because, well, it can. At $180, the Mini Jambox is more expensive, has worse battery life (10 hours of continuous playback as opposed to 15 for the full-size model, despite the fact that the newer version uses Bluetooth 4.0) and offers no major new features other than skinniness. Of course, combining this thin profile with an aluminum body means it's easier to slip the Mini Jambox in a pocket. In the three years I’ve owned the original speaker, that’s never been a concern for me. But then again, I’m also keeping my iPad 4, rather than “upgrading” to an iPad Air.
