The first person to be handed a citation for wearing Google Glass while driving pleaded not guilty to charges in a California courtroom on Tuesday.
According to a report in the Associated Press, Cecilia Abadie was one of the 10,000 people given the technology to try out before it is sold to the masses next year.
In October, she was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol for breaking the speed limit. When the officer noticed Abadie was wearing computerized eye glasses, he added an extra citation to her ticket that is “usually given to people driving while a video or TV screen is on in the front of their vehicle,” reported AP.
According to her attorney, Abadie plans to take the stand during the trial set for January, where she will testify that her glasses were not activated while she was driving.
