Google has given us a sneak peek at which gadgets and apps people in the U.S. have been searching for this past year. Instead of the most searched items, however, what we’re looking at are the most trending searches.

So what’s the difference? Says Google: “The ‘trending’ queries are the searches that had the highest amount of traffic over a sustained period in 2013 as compared to 2012.”

Pretty straightforward, no? Apple’s got five slots on the gadgets list – one of which is for a product that doesn’t even exist. Microsoft can’t be too happy that the Xbox One didn’t make the cut, while Sony and Samsung are probably high-fiving each other right now. The apps list looks about right, though Bitstrips taking the top slot might come as a surprise to some.

Anyway, here’s to 2014 and seeing “iPhone 6” climb up the ladder a bit to make room for “iPhone 7” at the bottom of the list.
