More than 37 million people around the world saw tweets about the 2014 Oscars on the social networking site, Twitter said in a blog post Tuesday. That’s almost as many as the 43.7 million viewers who actually tuned in for the show.
In a 12-hour span:
- About 5 million Twitter users sent 19.1 million tweets
- Those tweets were viewed more than 3.3 billion times on all platforms
- Ellen’s celeb selfie tweet was seen by more than 8.1 million people for a total of 32.8 million views.
Wow!
