Pinterest, the three-year-old photo-sharing site, can be an overwhelming place for the uninitiated. The website acts as a virtual pinboard, encouraging users to create themed collages by “pinning” their favorite items. A favorite of fashionistas and designers, the site now has more than 70 million users and continues to grow in popularity. A Pinterest page is now de rigueur for fashion brands like J. Crew and Nordstrom, who have both used the site to boost sales and awareness.
That’s why TIME’s annual 30 Pinners to Follow list aims to cut through pinner glut and highlight expert curators in a variety of popular fields: food, fashion, technology, design, lifestyle and weddings. The second installment of our list includes big names with hundreds of thousands of followers—think fashionista Lauren Conrad and domestic goddess Martha Stewart—but we’ve also tried to look for underfollowed boards. Try New York Times Fashion editor Simone Oliver for “drool-worthy accessories” or the UNLV Architecture Studies Library for a picturesque look at bridges around the world.
