After walking into the Nintendo World Store’s preview of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, one thing became apparently clear: Nintendo is excited about this game.
David Young, assistant PR manager at Nintendo of America, said one of the reasons Nintendo is so excited is because, “This is the first time we’re seeing Donkey Kong in high definition. That’s the big jump for the Wii U.”
This latest Donkey Kong installment is built around the local multiplayer experience; it’s a game designed for you and a friend to enjoy together. “You have a choice of different Donkey Kong Buddies to play with for a second-player experience,” says Young. Diddy Kong has a peanut pop-gun and an extra long jump; Dixie Kong has a ponytail attack and a helicopter spin; Cranky Kong uses his cane as a pogo stick.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be available February 21.
