Even though Google was recently surpassed by Apple as the world’s most valuable brand, the Mountain View-based search giant’s recent string of eco-conscious decisions continues, this time in a fancy new office space.

The company is set to have their “biggest year in hiring history” and has hired prestigious design firm Ingenhoven Architects to proceed with a new sustainable office space. The architect firm’s biggest client to date was predicated on notable sustainable projects in Sydney, Singapore, Osaka and more.

The Mountain View City Council approved of the $30 million deal back in March to build upon 600,000 square feet of space. The company already possesses a large chunk of the surrounding area, with with 4.3 million square feet either owned or leased in its name. (Here’s the current Googleplex; you can even see the basketball courts and soccer field.)

A company spokesperson tells Mercury News that they are looking to build “the most green, sustainable building possible,” with construction set to begin as soon as 2012.

Can’t wait to see what the new cafeteria’s going to be like.
