AT&T and RIM Announce the BlackBerry Torch

After a 16-month collaboration, AT&T and RIM announced the BlackBerry Torch, the first BlackBerry with touch-screen and full QWERTY keyboard. As expected, RIM’s latest OS, 6.0, powers the Torch including a handful of new features, like universal search, tabbed browsing, and group messaging.

I can’t imagine that Research in Motion (RIM), makers of the venerable BlackBerry smartphone, would name a tablet the BlackPad but, hey, just about everyone and their mother railed against the “iPad” name at first.
