HP’s CEO Mark Hurd mentioned that webOS would be implemented into devices other than smart phones including printers. Tell me again why I would I want a full-fledged operating system like webOS on a printer?

I knew they’d find a way to screw this up.

There’s been a lot of hubbub about tablet computing, in general, with most of the criticism for Windows-based tablets stemming from the fact that Windows on a tablet results in an underpowered computing experience with short battery life. So on the flipside of that coin, we’ve got mobile-centric operating systems like Android and …
AT&T has just announced that the Palm Pre Plus will be hitting store shelves on May 16. The price tag is a bit high considering Verizon is offering the Pre Plus for $50, but AT&T is giving away free Touchstone charger kits for a limited time (in stores only). No word on when the Pixi Plus will find its way onto AT&T.
Less than two weeks ago, HP announced that it would be acquiring Palm for $1.2 billion and it was then that speculation began to run rampant about a webOS tablet. According to an “insider at HP” the company is already fast-tracking a webOS tablet to launch in the third quarter of this year. Codenamed Hurricane, the webOS tablet is …
TechCrunch is reporting that HP has scrubbed its Windows 7 tablet because a) Windows 7 makes for a horrible tablet OS and b) they’re said to be abandoning Intel-based hardware altogether.
It should come as no surprise, really. Now that HP has picked up Palm, it makes perfect sense to switch gears and focus on webOS. I’ve heard …
HP has announced that they will acquire floundering Palm for $1.2 billion at $5.70/share. A steal considering how profitable Palm can be with HP’s distribution channels and cash flow. A press conference is set for 5PM ET, which we’ll be covering live. After rumors that Palm CEO Jon Rubenstein would soon be outed it appears as though he …
Things can certainly change in the blink of an eye. After announcing that they were looking for a buyer less than two weeks ago, Palm now says it can survive on its own with “a strong pipeline of products” coming down the road, said Palm CEO John Rubenstein.
In an interview with the Financial Times Rubenstein remained confident …
In a random or not so random twist of fate, Verizon announced this morning that they’re now officially offering the Mobile HotSpot app for free to owners of the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus. Existing customers will find a $0 on their next billing cycle for the service.

I’ve been meaning to put this poll up, but haven’t had the time to really put it together until now. I’m curious to know what device you carry around and/or whether or not you give a damn about phone reviews since I have a stack of devices on my desk waiting to be reviewed. Is there a particular device you’re waiting to get? …
As expected, AT&T has just announced the upcoming availability of the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus for $149.99 and $49.99, respectively. Also tucked into the announcement was the mention of Dell’s first Android-based device in the US, the Aero. No word on price for the Aero or availability dates for any of the announced …
Palm made a splash at CES in 2009 with the announcement of webOS and I’d say they’ve done a good job maintaining that momentum. A year later, they’ve added Verizon and AT&T to the roster and updated both the Pre and Pixi with – what some might call – minor updates. It’s been a week since the Pre Plus (Pixi Plus, too) went on …
In a little over a week I’ll be in Las Vegas for CES. It’s my hope – along with every other tech journo – that the annual trade show will serve as center stage for some groundbreaking announcement by a major (or minor) CE company. It’s doubtful, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I don’t expect Palm to make as big a splash as they did …
