Wizard Rock: A Sneak Peek at Jingle Spells 3

The new album Jingle Spells 3 is up at The Leaky Cauldron. If you’re into wizard rock, you’re already over there. If you’re not into wizard rock, this will mean nothing to you. Let me help.

First, read this, in which I try to explain what wizard rock is. Second, read this: Jingle Spells is Leaky’s annual holiday-themed wizard rock compilation, the profits from which go to charity. I spent this past weekend listening to it, and it’s got some pretty good stuff.

Such as:

— “House Elf Party,” by the Blibbering Humdingers. A B52’s-style party anthem. Gay Dumbledore joke in three…two…one…

— “Sonorus!,” by Romilda Vane and the Chocolate Cauldrons.
Mellow, lyrical, non-jokey.

— “Light the Castle Up,” by The Remus Lupins. An obligatory hannukah-themed jam by one of my favorite wrock bands. Hagrid is half-Jewish, apparently.

— “My Wish List,” by MC Kreacher.
OK, this track is by MC Kreacher. I think that’s all the annotation it needs.
