Comics on our Pull List 2/24/10

New comics are just one day away. The Blackest Night drought of January has finally come and gone. Issue seven is here with all its ring deputized glory. The Ender’s Game series produced a surprising number of books but Pasqual Ferry is drawing one more about the war hero Mazer Rackham and I’m going to buy it. What happened to Thor after getting beaten in the pages of Siege? Evil Batman comes home to Gotham and things in the Walking Dead are all going just great, really. This is our pull list for the week.

Blackest Night #7
As Nekron continues to wage war on life throughout the universe, Hal Jordan discovers the grim, true mission behind the villain’s return. But the truth is so cosmically abysmal that it threatens to expose a secret that could tear the very universe asunder. You can’t miss this stunning, penultimate issue to the year’s biggest event!

Enders Game Mazer in Prison Special
In this one-shot prequel to the award-winning novel Ender’s Game, Mazer Rackham, the only man ever to defeat the Formics, takes on a new enemy…the International Fleet itself. Burdened with careerists and bureaucrats, the I.F. is doomed to fail in the coming war, and only Rackham, with the help a young Hyrum Graff, can rid the I.F. of its old guard and pave the way for Earth’s next great commander. Adapted from Orson Scott Card’s short story, MAZER IN PRISON is a look into the beginnings of the system into which Ender Wiggin found himself thrust.

Thor #607
Asgard lies under SIEGE! As the evil eye of Norman Osborn falls on Asgard, what happens to neighboring Broxton, Oklahoma? What unexpected enemies will be drawn to the scene like carrion to a carcass? And what unlikely heroes will rise to the town’s defense? The Asgardians face the battle of their lives…and the showdown that’s coming may end their new life on Earth as quickly as it began! Kieron Gillen and Billy Tan kick off their second spectacular arc! 32 PGS.

Batman and Robin #9
BATMAN AND ROBIN double-ships in February with part 2 and 3 of “Blackest Knight” guest-starring Batwoman, Knight and Squire! Only months into his new role as Batman, Dick Grayson faces perhaps the biggest threat of his life. In hopes of attaining his heart’s desire, has Dick instead unleashed a terror the likes of which the world has never seen? Meanwhile, back in Gotham City, Alfred and a recuperating Robin are at the mercy of someone both fearsome and familiar…

Walking Dead #70
Behind these walls everyone has their place; everyone has their job. There is no danger, there are no threats… everyone has hope. Will it last?

Review: Soulo Converts iPad into Karaoke Machine

Karaoke lovers typically fall into two categories: Those who enjoy it, and those whose arms have to be twisted to get up and sing in public. Enter Soulo, a software and microphone kit that can turn an iPad or other Apple device into a karaoke machine. It gives you instant karaoke in the privacy of your own home, or wherever you carry your Apple gadgets. That’s the idea, anyway.
