Round 2 Smackdown! Find Out Which Villains Advanced to the Sweet 16

Round 2 of Techland’s Monster March Madness bracket is over and we’re left with our Sweet 16 — and boy are there some tough monsters (and some Cinderella villains) left.

Yesterday we found out that in the Oolong Island bracket Charlie Brown’s Lucy Van Pelt somehow beat out Doc. Ock and in the Rapture bracket Zeus and The Flood appear to be leading the pack.

Find out what happened in the Phantom Zone and Narnia brackets in their battles last night:

You Can Pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S III Now, but It’ll Cost You

It’s “friggin’ huge,” as my colleague Jared Newman recently quipped, and Samsung’s Galaxy S III is also going to be friggin’ expensive if you’re in the U.S. and want firsties. While the phone’s stateside launch date is still “early June,” Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the international version.

How is it that Khan loses because he’s more about using his henchmen and not doing it by himself, but Vader wins because he’s got “anything at his disposal”? Shouldn’t Vader have to “do it all himself” because that’s “what will prevail”?

Next round is gonna be EPIC.

-Vader kills Quaritch no problem. Tenderized, braised and sliced Colonol on the menu for those grey-houndy things on Pandora.
-Terminator gets MCP in the end. Whatever computers may be in him probably aren’t wi-fi enabled, so it can’t get in. He just finds its servers, lets a machine gun loose on ‘em, and the MCP is down for the count.
-Voldemort, after an epic duel, kills Jadis. Although their power levels are about the same, Voldy has the Horcruxes to back him up. He just needs to get one good ol’ Avada Kedavra past her defenses.
-Although it could go either way, I’m thinking Dr. Horrible’s got the edge over the Ape Wonder of the World. Given that the freeze ray can freeze an auditorium full of people for the length of a song, it can probably freeze a forty-foot ape too, for at least a brief amount of time. Then it’s just a matter of getting in some shots with the Death Ray until he starts to wake up. Use Freeze Ray again. Use Death Ray again. Rinse, Lather, Repeat. Eventually, the ape’s gonna give in.
