Welcome back to the Panel of the Week where we grab the best panels from this Wednesday’s haul of new comics. This week we’ve got chubby Logans, sandy men, Murdock filler, bat batons, and the super villains optional motorcycle accessory package. Here we go.

Nemesis #2
The first issue of Nemesis didn’t get a lot of love around these parts. I didn’t mind the ridiculousness. When you look at how many other books try to have super hero theatrics while still being serious you realize how many of them miss the mark. At least in Nemesis you can just enjoy the ride. Case in point, a huge custom chopper that can only unload its huge guns while it’s doing a wheelie. Why wouldn’t it work that way?

Daredevil #507
Thank cookies that artist Marco Checchetto was working on the last five issues of filler. I feel like we’ve been stalling in Japan for years. The worst part is I asked for this. I said to myself, wouldn’t it be cool to see more about how the Hand operates? Well, jackass, wish granted. It’s just like any other global organization, boring politics and back stabbing. It’s just less metaphorical in this case. But hey, look, it’s Daredevil fighting ninjas in a snow/lightning storm! With chains!

Iron Man #27
And here we have Matt Fraction slipping in a quick jab at fanboys the world over. When it comes to Wolverine cosplay I believe there are two animals out there. The first is this guy. He goes out and buys a Wolvie costume with foam muscles and over-the-sneaker fake boots and you know what, it’s all good. It’s the second type, those yahoos that spend months growing real mutton chops and constructing steel, functional, retractable claws that you have to watch out for.

Batman #700
We’re going to talk a lot more about Batman #700 in the Comic Book Club but this fight sequence that Quietly draws got my attention. When Dick and Damian finish wailing on a group of the Mutant gang Dick looks at his batons and smiles. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t he, as Nightwing, carry around a set of stupid batons for years? He’s looking at these things like they are a revelation.

Vengeance of the Moon Knight #9
It’s possible I had my hopes up a little to high for Juan Jose Ryp’s art in this issue. I suppose I only love him when he’s drawing bad psychedelic trips and exploding corpses. He’s just not suited for Heroic Age Spidey and Moony together. He did, however, do some very cool things with Sandman. Can you spot him in this panel?
