70 Years of Frankenstein Comics

Victor Frankenstein’s monster, stitched together from pieces of dead men, is a great visual creation–although the way we imagine him to look often has more to do with Boris Karloff’s appearance in the 1931 Frankenstein movie than with Mary Shelley’s description in her 1818 novel. He’s appeared (usually identified simply as “Frankenstein”) in an enormous variety of comic books over the past 70 years. Here’s a gallery of some of his more notable incarnations.
