Let’s deviate somewhat from the tried and true Paycheck Friday format in the interest of some last-minute Halloween costume ideas, shall we?
It’s Friday! Maybe you just got paid. You could use that money for boring stuff like bills, rent, and food, or you could act like a wonderfully impulsive consumer and spend it on any number of products costumes. Here are some ideas to get you started based on your taxable income bracket.
10% ($0 to $8,375)
Angry Birds? These birds are smiling! Start knocking stuff over!
You may not have much money, but you’ve got plenty of stuffing in that couch you got from Goodwill, and red or yellow fabric is cheap.
15% ($8,375 to $34,000)
This $73 World of Warcraft-inspired Murloc zip-up hoodie doesn’t take much effort on your part, but I doubt your fellow guild members would fault you for it. The best part is that it won’t ship until March, which gives you an excuse to stay in and play WoW this Halloween.
25% ($34,000 to $82,400)

Seeing a Cylon in real life would make for some messy pants, alright. This guy turned an old iMac into a Cylon head something-or-other, which doesn’t seem quite as scary. That being said, assuming Apple eventually builds robotic security guards to patrol its headquarters, this might be what they’ll look like. Until they start to resemble humans. Or have they already?!
Steve Jobs, a Cylon? It all makes sense now.

Mind? Blown. Ben Heck’s Portal Shirt uses a front-mounted LCD screen and a rear-mounted camera to create the illusion of a great big hole in the chest. Freak people right the hell out at your Halloween party and then display Twitter updates on the screen once the initial novelty has worn off.

The ultimate Halloween costume will fetch the ultimate price. Well, maybe not "the ultimate price." I’m pretty sure that’s death. The original Darth Vader costume from The Empire Strikes Back will be auctioned off at Christie’s, with bidding starting at around $250,000. That’d mean death for me, actually, as I’d eventually starve with all my money going to pay off this costume.
