The demise of all-you-can-eat data might not be all bad news. Shared data plans could be money savers by letting families draw from one data pool, and by letting power users connect several devices without buying a separate plan for each one. But some big questions still linger.
T-Mobile today announced that its smartphone customers can save money on monthly rates by purchasing new phones at full price or bringing in their own phones from elsewhere. But for now, the company isn’t providing full details on exactly how much these new “Value” plans cost.

I noticed this story late last night, basically another ‘iPhone 5′ tease that’s even bigger news from where I sit than whatever newfangled whatsits Apple’s tucked under the hood: global Verizon iPhone support.

Hmm. Now why would AT&T miraculously offer new data plans less than a week before the purported announcement of the 4th generation iPhone? And why would said data plans kick into effect on June 7? Oh, I know, a new iPhone is coming!
