It looks like we might finally have some solid intel on Apple's iTV and not from some anonymous "people with familiar with the matter." This news appears to come directly from Foxconn chief Terry Gou, the man whose factories actually build Apple products.
I think Siri has great potential. Its ability to interpret meaning from natural language puts it a cut above the voice commands of Android and Windows Phone, hinting at a future where we talk to computers as we would to other people. But to get there, Siri must evolve.
Pick up a new “resolutionary” iPad this Friday and one thing you won’t be able to do is ask it when the world will end (hint: not in 2012) or whether Google makes better phones. Why not? Because Apple wants to sell you an iPhone. But there’s a more nuanced reason: Siri’s not ready for the iPad. Not yet.
