Sometimes it seems like pencil technology moves so fast that it’s like, hey, why am I even trying to keep up with this stuff? First there was the pencil, then the eraser, then different numbered pencils, and now this new liquid pencil thing from Sharpie. Slow down!
It’s actually very cool. According to the company, the liquid graphite writes smoothly like a pen and erases like a pencil—for a while. After three days, whatever you’ve written on the page becomes permanent. That ought to give you enough time to check, double-check, and triple-check your work.
The Liquid Pencil will be sold in stores next month, though as Wired points out, it seems to already be on sale at Office Depot as a two-pack for $5.
