M. Night Shyamalan Speaks to Techland About The Director For His Next Movie
Hollywood Reporter reported that Daniel Stamm will direct the second of M. Night Shyamalan’s three-film saga The Night Chronicles. The movie is called Reincarnate and is written by Chris Sparling and Paul Grellong, who wrote the upcoming Buried. It is about a jury haunted by supernatural forces when they decide on the fate of an accused murderer. (We’re assuming A – there’s going to be a twist and B – the murderer might have something to do with Devil.)
We asked M. Night Shyamalan what he thought about Stamm and it seems that is on board with the choice and enthusiastic about it.
“I saw The Last Exorcism which was a beautiful piece of filmmaking that went beyond the genre,” he wrote to Techland in an email. “The performances were so naturalistic and relatable and that speaks to Daniel’s strength as an actor’s director.”
It would seem that the movie is going to rely on performance rather than big gimmicks. We’re going to have to wait to hear more though: The film will only start shooting in 2011.
The Secrets to the Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer
MTV had a nice run down on the Easter Eggs in the Paranormal Activity 2 trailer so we decided to check it out. Unexpectedly, if you rewind the trailer near the middle it will provide you with a whole host of images that would not appear when it played normally.
If you are too lazy to figure out how to do it (it took us a couple tries until we could consistently get it), check back Thursday, when we’ll post our video of the trailer running in reverse.
Until then, here’s a couple things we thought were interesting (Spoiler Alert):
– The child looks like he or she will be a central part. They are in almost all the shots.
– Before you feel bad for a crying baby, it seems they might be possessed. He’s or she’s got the demon eyes in this shot.
– Could it be because he or she was kissed by KATIE?
– Need more evidence of a possessed child? They don’t appear in mirrors. Notice the standing baby in the reflection…
– And, it seems they are performing some exorcism on him.
There’s also supposed to be a bit if you listen to the secret part backwards, but we were too disturbed by the scary baby to figure it out. Can anyone else tell us what it says?
