This iconic brand of stuffed animals from the 1980s started out as cute and cuddly “adoptable” dogs and later branched out into down-on-their-luck cats called Pound Purries. Made by Tonka (known mostly for toy construction vehicles), the line eventually got its own animated series and film.
How we’d update it: We’d love to see a new line of Pound Puppies and Purries integrated with a Kinect title for the Xbox 360 similar to Microsoft’s own Kinectimals. QR codes on the toys could be scanned in order to import them into the game, where they could be played with just like real, live pets.
