Leap MotionJust when you were getting used to touch computing, the Leap Motion Controller brings along something different — the age of touchless computing has arrived. A USB-connected sensor just bigger than a pack of gum, this input device detects the area above it, letting Mac and PC users interact with equipped apps and even their operating systems with just the wag of a finger. The Leap Motion Controller can control a variety of software, but at this point, it's best equipped for gaming — especially the titles available for sale and download through Leap Motion’s Airspace app store. From ports like casual favorites Cut the Rope and Fruit Ninja, to first person shooters like Fast Iron, gamers can poke, prod, swipe, slash, and trigger using only their hands. The controller can detect all 10 fingers simultaneously, making it great for experimental music apps like AirHarp and OscilloScoop. As for productivity software, while the platform is making headways, the $79 device is still a novelty in the office for now. But give it time, and there may someday be a reason to give it a thumbs up for the workplace, too.
