The Pirate Bay To Return With The Music Bay?

The Pirate Bay seems to be staging a comeback – and they promise to be more sneaky in their illegal file sharing methods with their new venture. The Music Bay, a domain purchased by the company as a way to look into different methods of distributing music online under the radar according to Torrent Freak, has recently shown some activity in one of the sub domains, fear.themusicbay.org. (The site’s title now reads “Comming Soon [sic]”) Coincidence? A source with The Pirate Bay tells Torrent Freak it’s all according to plan.

“The music industry can’t even imagine what we’re planning to roll out in the coming months,” the insider said. “For years they’ve complained bitterly about piracy, but if they ever had a reason to be scared it is now. It will be a special surprise for IFPI’s (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) 78th birthday, and we’re thinking of organizing a huge festival in Rome where IFPI was founded.”

The IFPI and Pirate Bay have had a long and hostile relationship, and the source added that The Pirate Bay’s new site will subvert the authorities in ways they never realized were possible. This could all be talk, and with three months left until the big birthdate, either this project has been in the works for a while now or it’s all just talk at this point.
