You’ve been waiting for this game for over a decade, and it’s finally here. Get ready for sore thumbs and button mashing action with Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Capcom community manager (and gaming legend) Seth Killian gave us some insight to the little easter eggs they added, especially about what those characters are really saying.
Yes, You Heard That Right
If Deadpool beats Magneto, he might yell “I just beat Mag-freakin-neto! Where’s yo curly moustache at?” This is a reference to the bizarre but notoriously infectious lingo of a famous Marvel Vs Capcom 2 player, Michael “Yipes” Mendoza.
Look Out For Ninjas
On the “Hand Fortress” fortress stage, even though they are ninjas from the Marvel Universe, they have decorated the inside of the left-most room in their fortress with a rice-paper screen featuring an illustration of Ryu fighting Akuma.
Man’s Best Friend
Hulk is not a man of many words, and he keeps it simple when talking calling on his teammates mid-match. Iron Man is of course “Metal Man,” and if he’s paired with Capcom’s Amaterasu, the wolf-shaped sun goddess? Yeah, when he tags her in he just yells “Dog!”
Not the Reality TV Show
Your team’s “X-Factor” ability can be activated at any time by pressing all four attack buttons at once. You can only activate it once per match, and it will heal you, give you a damage boost, and even speed you up. It affects every character a little differently, but one thing to remember is that your boosts become MUCH more powerful the fewer teammates you have left, and it will last longer as well. That means there are advantages to waiting to use the power, but don’t wait too long, or you might end up KO’d before you get your chance.
It’s In The S.T.A.R.S.
If you win a match with Resident Evil’s S.T.A.R.S. alumni Chris Redfield on one team, and Albert Wesker on the other, you’ll unlock the “Raccoon City Incident” achievement.
