Yes, there are event-y things going on in the world of the big two. Nights are still blackest and Hulks are certainly still falling but there are some smaller titles I’m looking forward to more this week. Although it got some bad reviews I sort of enjoyed Joe the Barabarian’s first issue and I’m ready for issue two. I think I have every issue of Atomic Robo so far and this new volume starting with number one will be more of the same. Invincible versus the galactic starfish should wrap up this week setting up for the Viltrumite war on the horizon. I could never say no to Doom or his ‘war’. Finally, Green Lantern and Parallax team up in issue #51. Come on back later this week to see what made our Panel of the Week.

Green Lantern #51
The most epic battle in BLACKEST NIGHT yet comes to a shocking conclusion as Hal Jordan makes the ultimate move to take on the Black Lantern Spectre. But what price comes with the unleashing of Parallax? And what does this mean for the future of the emotional spectrum’s avatars?

Joe The Barbarian #2
Formless Deathcoats, Dwarf Pirate Submariners, a Rodent Yojimbo – the wildest imaginings of a young boy become all too real in this breakout epic from superstar writer Grant Morrison and rising talent Sean Murphy. Fantasy and reality, death and life, collide in this new must-read series.

Atomic Robo Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #1
New York City, 1999. Atomic Robo has to wrap up some loose ends before jetting off to Japan for a business trip. Yup, just an average day at Tesladyne HQ where nothing bad can happen. Especially not The Revenge of the Vampire Dimension starring Atomic Robo, the force of nature known only as Jenkins, a ton of vampires, and Dr. Bernard Fischer on his very first day on the job.

Invincible #70
OVERWHELMED! Invincible finds himself faced against the combined might of the Sequid legions! Is he willing to do what must be done in order to save the world – and will this event push him over the edge or bring him back from it?

Doomwar #1
Wakanda has been conquered, its Vibranium reserves plundered. Storm faces execution in the next 48 hours. And Dr. Doom stands triumphant. It will take the combined forces of the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and the two Black Panthers to stand against him. A war has begun that will pit the world’s most relentless super-villain against a collection of the world’s most powerful super heroes — one that will span the globe, offering twists and turns and surprise players (hello, Deadpool!) that neither side will see coming.
