In many ways, this Brother is an entirely typical modern ink jet printer of the sort that have become home-office stalwarts.. It does a respectable job with both black-and-white text and colorful documents such as photographs. It scans and copies. It faxes. Unlike other companies’ ink jets at similar price points, however, the MFC-J6710DW does it all at up to 11″-by-17″ size, letting you print signs, posters and other oversized creations and scan in stuff that won’t fit in a garden-variety multifunction device. It’s big fun at a good price.
