HP’s Envy 14 Spectre is a bit thick and heavy for a 14-in. ultrabook but makes up for it with glass on the lid, palm rests and a track pad. The whole laptop is smooth to the touch, and gliding the cursor around Windows 7 is a breeze. But you may want to sit down for the price: $1,399 when it launches on Feb. 8. (Details from HP)
